HEART SAVER FIRST AID FOR DIVERS (IMCA)

Here at Eduscope International, we want you to advance your career by becoming a Diver Medical Technician. This advanced life support course is IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) accredited and will help you better position yourself for both civil diving, offshore air and closed bell diving operations. 

Eduscope International is a partner organization of KBA Training Centre PTE LTD (KBAT), Singapore.  Considering the Pandemic conditions the IMCA ( International Marine Contractors Association) accredited Divers Medical Technician Course, the fresher and refresher course is conducted in two parts. Our program will push your critical analysis skills as you learn to respond and manage medical emergencies while working under the IMCA medical chain of command.

Part -2
Onsite Hands on Session conducted By Eduscope International: Hyperbaric Medical Theory & Practical Assessment

About the Course:

The IMCA Approved Course provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to administer Life Support techniques learnt during the training, effectively and safely.

Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up-to-date emergency first aid equipment. Small classes allow for individualization in an environment that fosters intellectual exchange and practical, hands-on instruction.

This course will provide the attendees with IMCA approved certification that is recognized internationally by the industry.

Learning Objectives:

To train commercial divers to be certified IMCA Diver Medics. It is a known requirement by IMCA to have one member of a dive team who is not diving, other than the supervisor, trained in advance first aid - generally referred to as a 'diver medic'.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Perform Basic Advanced Cardiac & Trauma Life Support.
  • Understand the Medical, Legal & Ethical aspects of a DMT.
  • Correct handling & assessing of patients with diving related injuries in a Hyperbaric Chamber.

Duration of the course

  • HEART SAVER FIRST AID FOR DIVERS (IMCA): 5 days
  • Refreasher: 2 days

Validity:

With effect from 1st July 2013, IMCA Diver Medic Technician / Refresher training will be valid for only two years instead of three years. Upon expiry, the candidate has to attend the refresher course in order to remain certified.
