ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. Entrance Examination (Written and Oral) in Biology and Chemistry. Students must score 40+/60 to get admitted to the first year of the program. Scores Between 30-40/60 will result in the student being placed in the waiting list. 

2. Grade 12/A-Level Completion certificate with Minimum 70% or B grades in Biology and Chemistry 

DESCRIPTION

The degree programme Medicine aims at educating medical doctors capable of entering residency programmes or having necessary skills to provide emergency aid and health care services under the supervision of a physician specialist. 

The Faculty was established in 1922. It is the largest and oldest faculty at LSMU, consisting of 34 clinical departments, 5 theoretical departments, 4 institutes and the Centre of Medical Simulation. The Faculty of Medicine presents opportunities for students to learn about the latest developments in medicine and acquire practical skills in preparation for their practice in health care services after graduation. Well known in Europe and throughout the world the Faculty’s experts in theoretical and clinical medicine share their knowledge with young enthusiastic students. Students have unique opportunities to obtain practical skills at the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences ‘Kauno klinikos’.

The curriculum of the Medicine programme is organized according to Problem Based Learning methodology and it is the most suit able modern way to reach better learning results within the field of medical education. Quality assurance at the University is based on three major aspects, namely the quality of the curricula, the competence of the  teaching staff and student oriented learning process. Curriculum is periodically analyzed and updated internally, improving both con tent and intended learning results. Medicine programme holds external accreditation by the National Quality Agency, keeping both the curricula and teaching process in line with ESG2015 standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area. National Quality Agency is an accredited member of ENQA and assures full confidence in surveillance of quality of study process.
